REPORT ON THE USE OF EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT FUNDS
Introduction
This report explains how the donated funds were used to support students in two different areas of Vietnam. The support helped children who are facing difficulties because of natural disaster and poverty. The activities took place in Phu Yen Province and Dak Drong.
Your generosity helped improve learning conditions for students and encouraged them to continue their education.
I. Support for a primary School After a Storm in Binh Thuan
An amount of 2,500,000 VND was used to support Lam Giang Primary school in Binh Thuan Province that was damaged by a strong storm last year. The storm caused serious flooding which damaged classrooms, learning materials, and school supplies.
The activity took place on 13–14 December 2025 at Lam Giang Primary School. The school had just experienced a historic flood that caused serious damage to the school and the surrounding community.
When volunteers arrived, teachers were still cleaning mud from classrooms so that students could return to school after nearly one week of closure. Many classrooms were badly damaged. Some desks and chairs were missing, and some classrooms did not even have a teacher’s desk. Textbooks, notebooks, and materials in the library were soaked in mud and water, damaged and unusable.
The school principal shared that many students had lost everything in the floods. Many families were unable to immediately replace school supplies for their children. The school therefore asked for support so students could return to class with the basic materials they needed.
Because of the flooding, many teachers and students lost books, notebooks, and other important materials. This support helped the school buy new supplies so students could continue their studies in better conditions.
The assistance was a meaningful encouragement for both teachers and students as they continue to recover from the disaster.
II. Scholarship Support for Students in Dak Drong
The second activity supported by the fund was a scholarship program for students in Dak Drong, located in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. A total amount of 9,000,000 VND was provided to assist 30 students living in this remote and economically disadvantaged area.
Dak Drong is home to many families of the Bana people, whose livelihoods depend mainly on small-scale farming. Due to limited income and restricted access to educational resources, many children face considerable challenges in continuing their studies. Financial hardship often forces families to prioritize immediate survival needs over educational expenses.
Through this support, essential school supplies and partial tuition assistance were provided to the 30 students. The scholarship program helped reduce some of the financial burden on families and enabled students to continue attending school with greater stability.
Impact
This support helped reduce some of the financial pressure on families and allowed students to continue going to school.
For many children, this scholarship is not only financial help but also a strong encouragement. It reminds them that people from other places care about their education and their future. This support has increased their motivation to study and their confidence to continue learning.
All funds were used directly for educational purposes related to the two activities described above. The allocation of funds is summarized below:
- 2,500,000 VND – Purchase of school supplies and learning materials for a storm-affected school in Lam Giang Primary school, Binh Thuan Province
- 9,000,000 VND – Scholarship assistance and school supplies for 30 students in Dak Drong
Local coordinators ensured that the support reached the intended beneficiaries. The distribution was conducted in collaboration with school representatives and community members to ensure transparency and proper use of the funds.
